CUNA Technology Council Summit - Post 3

So, all-in-all this was a really good conference. Friday wasn't the most productive day as the Friday sessions didn't resonate with me as much as the previous days. And, it was a fairly short day. We broke around 2:30 PM to take a tour of the coliseum at Ceasers where they were setting up for Jerry Seinfeld that night. The Technical Director gave all of us a really nice tour of the whole facility and gave a demo of a lot of the technology in use. The huge video screen at the back of the stage was incredible! He said it cost them 9 million bucks! If you haven't seen it, you wouldn't believe how awesome the image looked. I really enjoyed walking the catwalk 50 feet up. Very cool.

On Saturday, they had the "Best Practices" presentation. I'm really glad I didn't miss that because there was some really interesting stuff there. Here's what I found particularly interesting:

  • Spokane Teachers CU has a SharePoint Intranet and also a data warehouse.
ENT CU has a partnership with their local university where they provide combined student ID's and debit cards.
  • Technology CU has a referrals, sales, and incentives program they developed in-house with .NET.
  • Technology CU also won an award for their performance evaluation application.

Getting a good look at what other credit union's are doing is invaluable. As are the relationships I made here this past week.
